Edna Pearl McCainey Stevenson, 77, was born in Lauderdale County on November 14, 1947, to Hattie McCaney Boyd and the late James McCaney. She entered into eternal life on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C. She was married to her husband, Willie Stevenson Jr., who survives.
Edna leaves to cherish the memories of his life, in addition to her mother, Hattie McCaney Boyd, one son, Willie Allen Stevenson of Statesville, N.C.; one daughter, Rheebe Stevenson of Winston Salem, N.C.; two stepchildren, Vincent Cockerham and Jennifer Stevenson, both of Mocksville, N.C.; three brothers, James McCaney Jr. (Wanda), Paul McCaney (Dawn), and Jerry McCaney (Tish); five sisters, Many William (Lorenzo), Cora Gillyard, Lola Smith, Pamela Berg (Douglas), and Alice Youngblood (Billy); five grandchildren, Briana Heller, Alannah Heller, Zamari White, Maria Stevenson, and Samuel Stevenson; step grandchildren, Maleia Stevenson Brown, Jordan McDaniel, and Madisyn Cockerham; two step grandchildren, Shania Brown and Safyia Brown; and a host of other cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:30 p.m. and the service will start at 1:30 p.m. Reverend Kinston Jones will bring the eulogy.

If this is the Ms. Edna I believe, I worked with her at Iredell Memorial years ago and she was such a smart lady and nurse who knew her stuff. She taught me a lot and she will be missed.
