Larry Tate Freeze, 83, of Mount Tabor Road, Cleveland, N.C., passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at his home.

Born on December 25, 1940, in Iredell County, N.C., he was the son of the late Tate Thompson Freeze and Neva Cloaninger Freeze. Larry worked at Teledyne Semiconductor both here in the United States and Singapore. He concluded public work as an Engineer at Ingersoll Rand at the Davidson, N.C., facility and spent his retirement farming in cattle, agriculture, and forestry. Mr. Freeze was also a veteran having proudly served in the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Freeze is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Brenda; daughters, Paige Ladd and her husband Mike and their children, Caroline and Tanner, Holly Kepley and her husband Tim and their children, Kaylee and Elizabeth Brumley, and Tyler. Larry is also survived by his brother Harold and his wife Joni, as well as his brother-in-law, Joe Sherrill and his wife Kay. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Freeze will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Sloop Barn, 4320 Brown Road, Mount Ulla, NC 28125. The family will receive friends immediately following the Memorial Service.

The Freeze Family offers a heart-felt thank you to the many caregivers over the last six years, including Amanda Basinger, Sheila McKinnon, Wanda Carter, Damaris Myers, Remy Massey, Meaka Hollie and Ivy Murray for their compassion, support and loving care provided to their Dad and family.

Larry will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family, his unwavering determination, an incredible work ethic, and infinite wisdom — applied to every area of his life. He will be missed, he will be remembered, and he will be loved forever.
