Evelyn Sloan Barbour, 90, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Meadow Lakes of Statesville.

She was born on September 23, 1934, in Roanoke, Va., to the late Henry and Catherine Beal Sloan. Mrs. Barbour’s home church was Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Mooresville, where she taught Sunday School and was very involved in all aspects of the church. She later moved her membership to West Corinth Baptist Church, Mooresville. She enjoyed working in her garden and doing crafts. She loved her animals as she was raised on a farm in Virginia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Melton Barbour; and her sons, Gary W. Barbour and Mark A. Barbour.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Patricia Baldwin Barbour; granddaughter, Jessica Barbour; and great grandsons, Dakota Hood and Vincent Robinson.

Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
