The goal of this year’s campaign is $30,000.

BY LAQUETTA BROWN

Since January 2017, the Iredell County Department of Social Services has been providing Foster Care Services to a child I am working with. During his time in foster care, he has experienced numerous changes and moves due to the trauma he endured prior to entering care. Our agency was able to partner with a community organization to locate an out-of-state family member who expressed interest in becoming a long-term placement option. We are so thankful for the financial support from the Lonely Children’s Fund, which helped us ensure that this child was able to have all of his clothing, toiletries, and other belongings sent to his new placement.

The Lonely Children’s Fund has been instrumental in helping so many children in Foster Care have access to items, activities, and experiences that they may not have otherwise. As Social Work staff, we could not do this work without the love, support, and commitment from the community we serve. Your help is needed to continue to meet the needs of our most vulnerable population.

In this season of Thanksgiving, we appreciate those who give annually, and we look forward to building a long-standing partnership with those who will be donating for the first time.
