Elma Lee Poston Eller, 87, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 8, 2024, after a short illness. In her final days, Elma was surrounded by her loving family.

Born February 1, 1937, Elma was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Samuel Eller. Their love was, and will continue to be, a testament of everlasting devotion to their loving family. In addition to her husband, Elma was preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Becky Poston; her sisters, Helen Livingood, Betty Waugh, and Josephine Barnhardt; and brothers, Gene Poston and Johnny Poston.

Elma was a caretaker by nature and found great joy in her three children, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She loved to bake and had a green thumb that made her porch flowers the envy of the neighborhood. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving Mom, Mamaw Eller and friend.

She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Her close circle of church friends and neighbors meant so much to her.

Elma leaves a lasting legacy that will be cherished by her family, Debbie Bishop and husband Keith of Mooresville, Tim Eller and wife Patty of Mooresville, Sandy Lail and husband Brian of Statesville; grandchildren, Connie Deaton and husband Curt, Sonnie Hasson and husband David, Nicky Pressley and husband Mike, Luke Eller and wife Sarah, Sammy Lail and wife Katie, and Ashley Smith and husband Nick; and great grandchildren, Camryn, Sam, John, Emmeline, Samantha, Sabrina, Hunter, Judah, Aiden, Isaac and Mila.

A celebration of life and graveside service will be held Thursday, December 12, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville. The family will be receiving friends at 11 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Glenwood Memorial Park at 12:30 p.m.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Elma’s church family, friends, extended family and caretakers for their compassion and support.
