Participants in Troutman’s annual Jungle Run 5K did not let the cold temperatures and light rain dampen their smiles or enthusiasm on Sunday afternoon. Decked out in their merriest attire, folks of all ages ran, walked, or strolled through the town as part of their holiday ritual.

Troutman Ruritan President Mariah Johnson welcomed the 211 runners to the event, and Alexandria Jaroszynski sang the National Anthem.

The race was officially timed by McLelland Racing Team.

Participants donated new toys and personal care items to support My Sister’s House’s holiday season needs.

Ruritan, Troutman United Methodist Church, and Freedom Church provided hot chocolate and refreshments to the crowd.
