The 2024 Giving Tree Village in Davidson cast a spotlight on Bridge of Hearts. The Iredell County nonprofit received $2,087 for placing second overall in the contest.

The Giving Tree Village is a part of the annual Christmas in Davidson attended by thousands of visitors viewing decorated trees of 63 participating nonprofits and 63 tree sponsors.

This year, the event raised more than $45,000 for local nonprofits with each organization receiving a base donation of $200 and additional funds generated through in-person votes and online donations.

“We are so grateful to the Rotary Club of Davidson for providing this opportunity for local nonprofits and we are thrilled that so many community members voted for our tree,” said Bridge of Hearts Executive Director Linda Morris. “A special thank-you goes out to BOH Board members Anna Bowden and Dr. Lory Morrow for creating our tree and to our sponsor McIntosh Law Firm.”

Other Iredell nonprofit organizations receiving awards include Foster Love Adopt Repeat (Kids Favorite) and Richard’s Coffee Shop (Most Creative).
