Catherine Irene Pryor Stikeleather, 93, of Troutman, N.C., passed away Sunday, December 22, 2024, at her residence.
She was born in Iredell County on June 29, 1931, to the late Walter May Pryor and Ruby Mariemma Wagner Pryor. She was a long-time member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She worked at the Dart Department Store and in the cafeteria in Troutman Elementary School. She loved working with children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Blaine “J.B.” Stikeleather; and sons, James Harvey Stikeleather and Doyle Wayne Stikeleather.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Charles Stikeleather (fiancée, Hope Maffucci) of Statesville; daughter, Heather Yvonne Fleming (Michael) of Troutman; grandchildren, Austin Stikeleather and Trever Fleming; brother, Ed Pryor (Gilda) of Troutman; fur baby, Johnny Reb; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 30, at 2 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Dieter Punt and Rev. Mike Maffucci and will officiate. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 29, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 225 Morgan Street, Troutman, NC 28166.

Catherine had such a rich history of service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She always had a smile to share and a big heart. May her family know God’s comfort and peace.
It is with heavy heart that I say mom will be missed. Her strength, tolerance and perseverance have always been admired. Thank you for being there when needed. Rest in peace.
