Claude “Steve” Beam, loving husband and paw-paw, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville, N.C., at the age of 59. Born on January 8, 1965, he was the baby of five children of the Dennis and Peggy Beam. He was known as a fun loving, happy person who never met a stranger and was always willing to put a smile on everyone’s face.
Steve and his wife Tracy were reunited over 25 years after walking down the aisle at his brothers’ wedding. Their bond was unmatched, and they shared a special love that made them inseparable, spending as much quality time together as possible. They had the opportunity to travel across the country working together side by side in a tractor-trailer for a year. Every day was a new adventure, creating miles of memories before returning to work at Kontane Logistics.
Steve enjoyed projects at home with his wife. Time spent with family and friends was important to him, along with enjoying a simple life, cooking out and watching the chickens roam across the yard. His pride and joy were his four granddaughters, Raven, Carly, Lexi and Brooklyn.
He is survived by his wife Tracy Beam; sister, Amanda (Doug) Davis; brothers, Kim Jones, Mike and Gary; daughters, Raquel and son-n-law Chris Shoemaker, Crystal Winters, and Irene Cline.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Peggy Beam.
The family will have a private ceremony at the Salisbury National Cemetery at a later date.
In remembrance of Steve, memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
