Students at Cloverleaf Elementary, an International Baccalaureate World School, embarked on a special holiday journey before the holiday break.

The children were excited have their golden tickets punched by the train conductor as they boarded their own polar express.

“The Polar Express” is a children’s picture book written by Chris Van Allsburg that tells the story of a young boy who has grown skeptical about Santa Claus, but embarks on a magical adventure to the North Pole.

Students read the book and also watched the movie (which was adapted from the book) and dressed like the children in the book by wearing their pajamas to school.

Inside the classroom, students explored shapes with edible treats and made other festive crafts. The school also had a Grinch Day in which students made edible green treats and read the book.
