Tristan Millsaps

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Tristan James Millsaps, 23, of North Thomas Lane, Stony Point, in a news release Monday.

Millsaps, who was driving a Hyundai Sonata, was stopped by Deputy G. Wiedenmann, who is a member of the ICSO Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team, about 12:15 a.m. on Saturday near the intersection of Wilkesboro Highway and Ellenburg Drive, Campbell said.

Millsaps had an active warrant for his arrest at the time of the traffic stop, according to the news release.

While taking Millsaps into custody, Deputy Wiedenmann detected the odor of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle, Campbell said. During a probable cause search, the deputy found and seized approximately 7.25 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 27.25 grams of marijuana, and various items of drug paraphernalia, according to the news release.

Millsaps was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where Magistrate Nicholson set his bond at $3,000.
