The Town of Mooresville invites residents and visitors to come together to celebrate the life, legacy and vision of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the annual MLK Day event on Monday, January 20.
“Mission Possible: Dream Bigger” will take place at the Charles Mack Citizen Center and will feature a community peace walk, breakfast, and program to promote unity, and reflection.
The day’s events will begin at 9 a.m. with a peace walk, symbolizing solidarity and commitment to King’s ideals of equality. Participants are encouraged to gather on Main Street in front of the Charles Mack Citizen Center. The walk will conclude at the Charles Mack Citizen Center, where the celebration will continue.
Following the peace walk, attendees with tickets are welcome to enjoy a community breakfast fostering fellowship among neighbors and friends. The breakfast will lead into an inspiring program that pays tribute to King’s legacy. The program will feature Keynote speaker, Pastor Sheldon McIver, as well as musical and dance performances celebrating the impact King has had on our society.
