It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James “Jimmy” Dean Washam, 62, who passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. He was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

He was born on June 25, 1962, in Iredell County, N.C., to Brenda Brown Washam and the late Richard Adrian Washam. Jimmy was known for his unwavering kindness and his sense of humor, which could light up any room. He loved seeing people smile and making them laugh. He dedicated his life to his work at G. L. Wilson and also to his lifelong passions, his dog(s), motorcycles, firearms, and hunting, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He is survived by his daughter Michelle D Mowery; two granddaughters; one great granddaughter; his partner Peggy Tilley; mother Brenda; brother Lynn; and sister Betty, all of whom will forever cherish his memory.

He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his legacy of love and compassion continues to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
