Alan Fountain, 71, of Taylorsville, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at his home. He was born November 17, 1953, in Syracuse, N.Y., the son of the late Allen Fountain and Lucia Josephine Pulvirenti Fountain.

Alan was a deputy sheriff for Onondaga County, N.Y., for over 20 years. He enjoyed having BBQs and picnics for friends and family. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially shooting guns with the grandchildren.

Those left to cherish and honor Alan’s memories include his wife of 46 years, Doreen Armstrong Fountain of the home; his daughter, Jessica Fountain of Taylorsville; his sons, Daniel Harrel (Ashley) of Fredericksburg, Va., and R.J. Fountain (Amanda) of Thurmond, N.C.; his grandchildren, Caleb, Samuel, Mya, Amour, Camden, Kylee, Kole, Eli, Shannon and Griffin; his sisters, Karen Vincent of Florida, Denise Paton of New York, and Michelle Slavych (Merko) of Texas; and his brother, Donald Walter (Rose) of Arizona.

The family will hold a gathering of friends and family at a later date.
