Lisa Turner

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Lisa Gant Turner, 57, of Log Cabin Road, Statesville, in a news release.

Deputy D. Joyce initiated a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Equinox on Salisbury Highway at Nabors Road on January 12, Campbell said.

While Deputy Joyce was speaking with Turner, who was driving the SUV, Deputy C. Moncus arrived to assist.

Deputy Moncus, who recognized Turner and her residence from a recent narcotics-related search warrant executed at her home, deployed Canine Kash to conduct an exterior sniff of Turner’s vehicle, according to the news release.

Canine Kash alerted to the presence of narcotics, prompting a search of the vehicle, Campbell said. Deputies discovered methamphetamine and multiple items of drug paraphernalia inside Turner’s purse, according to the news release.

Turner was arrested by Deputy Moncus and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. She was charged with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Magistrate Callejas ordered no bond due to Turner already being out on bond for previous charges.
