A suspect has been arrested in connection with the robbery of a pharmacist at a Walgreens store in Mooresville.

The Mooresville Police Department announced the arrest of Keith Brandon Cunningham, 31, of Statesville in a news release on Wednesday. He was ordered held without bond by a magistrate.

MPD officers responded to a report of a robbery at a Walgreens on River Highway on January 5, police said. 

During the robbery, a man presented a note to the pharmacist indicating he was armed and demanded fentanyl and oxycodone, according to the news release.

MPD detectives identified Cunningham as a suspect during the ensuing investigation.

After executing two search warrants in Statesville with the assistance of Statesville Police Department officers, MPD detectives arrested Cunningham on Tuesday.

He was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.
