Mooresville Police Department personnel responded to the Mooresville Ford Dealership on East Plaza Drive on Wednesday afternoon after receiving a report about a possible bomb/wired device found in a vehicle that was being serviced at the dealership.
The Cabarrus County Bomb Squad was called to the scene and the owner of the vehicle was contacted.
The vehicle is owned by a Mooresville-based security company, Advanced Detection Technology. A company representative stated that the device, which is used for training purposes, was accidentally left inside the vehicle.
The device did not a threat to the public, according to company officials.
MPD and the Cabarrus County Bomb Squad completed their investigation and cleared the scene at approximately 4:30 p.m.
