Dolores Wallace Phillips, 89, of Statesville, N.C., passed away at home due to declining health on Saturday, January 18, 2025. She was born in Iredell County on October 12, 1935, to the late Hugh Albert Wallace and Beulah Mary Plyler Wallace.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dwight Clinton Phillips Jr.; three brothers, Bryant Wallace, Joe Wallace, and Robert Wallace; one sister, Mary Ruth Church; and one grandson-in-law, John Cole III.

She was affectionately known as Granny Dot. She retired from textiles and then lovingly cared for her grandchildren. She was a member of Calvary Community Church and attended until her health declined. Most of all, Granny Dot remained humble and kind until the Lord called her home.

Survivors include two sons, Stephen Eric Phillips and Bradley Phillips, both of whom are from Statesville; one daughter, Melody Redmond, and her husband Jerry of Statesville; one brother, Mike Wallace, and his wife Evelyn of Hickory; one sister, Macie Woodside of Statesville; one sister-in-law, Lina Wallace of Statesville; two grandchildren, Heather Cole and Matthew Flouton and his wife Stacey; our great-grandchildren, John Cole IV and wife Erica, and Emily Cole, Jordan Flouton, and Travis Flouton; and one great-great-grandchild, Londyn Cole – Bennett.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date.
