Foster Farley Edgar, 78, of Taylorsville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville, N.C.
He was born November 24, 1946, in South County, R.I., the son of the late Harry Walters Edgar and Genevra Brown Edgar.
Foster had worked for the University of Rhode Island in the maintenance department for over 30 years. He was a United States Army veteran and served in the Vietnam era. He was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed working on tractors, going to the race track, and also enjoyed going to tractor shows with his buddy Howard Williams. He also enjoyed riding horses.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Kark Edgar; and his brother, Gerald Edgar.
Those left to honor and cherish his memories include his daughters, Laura Brouse of Rhode Island and Lisa Lamia of Rhode Island; his son, Michael Edgar (Cristine Kassis) of Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Falicia, Jessica, Peter, Ryan, Kory, Jolie, and Naya; his sisters, Debbie Lusignan (David) and Mary Whittle (Rickey); his brother, Keith Edgar (JoAnne); Kandace and Rebecca, who were like family to Foster; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
