Elizabeth Arlene Byrd Isenhour, 82, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Blenheim, S.C., on March 12, 1942, she was the daughter of the late James Walter Byrd and Elizabeth Evans Byrd.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Monroe Isenhour, with whom she shared sixty-one years of marriage until his passing on September 19, 2021; and two great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served in various roles, especially working with the Primary classes.

She graduated high school and worked in the public sector for many years, but mostly spent her time loving and providing for her family, as she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Scott (Sheri) Isenhour of Bolivia, N.C., Todd (Kathi) Isenhour of Advance, N.C., and Mark (Crystal) Isenhour of Statesville, N.C.

Elizabeth is further survived by ten grandchildren, Joshua, Jake, Jonathan, Jordan, Cortney, Megan, Taylor, Garrett, Ashley and Conrad; twenty-eight grandchildren; and one sister, Nita Jo Gatton.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 27, 2025, from 1 to 2 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 426 Jane Sowers Road, Statesville, N.C.

The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with Bishop Charlie Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
