Margaret Louise Neal McCauley, 86, of Taylorsville, N.C., passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at The Greens of Maple Leaf.
She was born on April 8, 1938, in Iredell County, the daughter of the late Wesley Neal and Fannie Honeysuckle Neal.
She started working at Holly Farms in poultry for 10 years, then was a yarn operator in the textile industry from which she retired. In her final years of working, she was a housekeeper in nursing homes. She was a proud member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Taylorsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas McCauley; daughter, Priscilla Stokes; grandson, Bilal Neal; sisters, Lula Bell Powell and Doshia Mae Smith; and brother-in-law, Charles E. Smith.
Those left to honor and cherish her memories include her daughter, Norma Jean Neal; grandchildren, Michael Linebargar and LaVonda Neal; great grandchildren, Shakyra Smith, LaToya Lackey, Anissa Neal, Destiney Stiles, and Rashana Neal; great-great grandchildren, Nevaeh Smith, Carter Lee Neal Parsons, Kaeson Sandoval, Addalyn Johnson, and Namarion Smith; and her brother, Richard Wormack. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and loving friends also survive.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Kevin Ussery will officiate.
