Personnel from Shepherds, Lake Norman, Mooresville, South Iredell, and Mount Mourne fire departments responded to a report of a structure fire on Golden Pond Lane about 2:03 p.m. Sunday. The first units on scene transmitted a working fire with heavy smoke coming from the single-story home.
Fire fighters made an aggressive interior attack on the fire and quickly knocked it down. While crews searched for occupants, they located and rescued a dog. The pup appeared to be in good condition and was reunited it with a grateful family member.
As the Golden Pond Lane fire was placed under control, some units were called to respond to a structure fires on Kenway Loop to assist Troutman Fire Rescue with an outbuilding on fire and another fire on Rebekah Lane for a pool house on fire. Shepherds, Mooresville and West Rowan fire departments personnel responded. Those structures were both fully involved when crew arrived.
The cause of all the fires are under investigation. No injuries were reported.

Great work once again. Thank you men and women!
I am the owner. I had no idea this was on line. I went grocery shopping at 1:30 pm to Publix and and the fire must have started at 2pm. The rescue team was there in 5 minutes. My beloved Lucy would have perished. My love and gratefulness is beyond words! I know my house myself and my sweet doggie daughter are so Blessed. Thank you my hero firefighters and there are more people to thank. All of the miracles were granted by God,Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Lucy is a Saint of God. My personal belongings mean nothing. Having no injuries and the amount of HUGE community support was wonderful. The FIREFIGHTERS deserve a reward and recognition on this rescue. Love. You all so much!!!!thank you!!!!!!
