Iredell Health System announced Tuesday that Georgia Marie Hayworth has been hired as director of Respiratory Therapy.

Marie Hayworth

Hayworth earned her respiratory therapy degree from Catawba Valley Community College, her Bachelor of Business Administration from Strayer University, and is currently completing her Master of Science in Management. She has more than 15 years of experience in respiratory therapy in both supervisor and director capacities. At her previous employer, she collaborated with local pulmonary care offices in a rural community to establish a pulmonary function lab.

“I am most excited about my new role for the opportunities I can bring to the department,” said Hayworth. “I plan to take respiratory therapy to new levels and give a higher level of autonomy for the amazing respiratory therapists at Iredell.”

Hayworth was drawn to Iredell Health System because of the hometown family feel.

“I chose Iredell because of the hospital’s ability to give back to the community. Everyone is kind and the smiles resonate when employees pass each other in the halls,” she said.

Iredell Health’s leadership is confident in Hayworth’s abilities and passion for driving quality improvements.

“Her vision for enhancing patient outcomes and fostering a supportive environment for staff aligns perfectly with our mission and values,” said Larry Pizzorni, assistant vice president of Ancillary & Support Services.

Hayworth is excited about her new opportunity.

“Being able to accomplish my dreams and aspirations is near and dear to my heart. I plan to grow with my team and continue to make Iredell the best place for healing,” she said.
