Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Bradley Gage Johnson, 23, of HIghland Point Avenue, Harmony, in a news release Monday.

On Sunday, February 2, ICSO deputies were dispatched to a report of a domestic dispute at 130 Skyuka Road near Troutman, Campbell said. After arriving, deputies encountered Johnson, who had prior domestic violence-related charges involving the female victim, Heaven Jones.

When deputies attempted to question Johnson, he fled on foot. During the pursuit, he forcibly entered the patrol vehicle where Jones was seated and fled the scene, the sheriff said.

Deputies immediately initiated a pursuit, which ended a short distance away on Rolling Lane in Statesville. Johnson then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended, according to the news release.

Jones was safely recovered and was not injured during the incident, Campbell said.
