We remember him as he sets his wings free and runs to the arms of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Joanser Mejia, age 3, was called home on Monday, February 10, 2025, after a long fight. His soul is free and his lungs will breathe freely as he runs through Heaven.

Joanser was born August 20, 2021, in Catawba County, the son of Joanny Arias Mejia and Moises Mejia Taveras.

Joanser was a charming, sweet boy who touched the hearts of everyone he came in contact with. As we remember Joanser, this scripture came to mind: Matthew 19:14 – But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish and honor Joanser’s memories include his brothers, Josaiah Mejia and Josiel Mejia; his grandparents, Lucy and Alfredo Rosario, and Belkis Taveras and Rafael Mejia and Dulce Mejia; his aunts, Jayleen Collado, Yeraldy Woolridge, Abigail, Yissel, Marileisi, Nathalie, and Ruth Mejia; his uncles, Eric Ferrer, Jonathan Jimenez, and Leonel Mejia; nurse turned family member, Brenda Allen; and a number of cousins and other loved ones.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2025, in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will be with the family.
