With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Paul Daniels on the evening of January 10, 2025, at the age of 59.

Paul graduated from South Iredell High School in 1984 and dedicated over 20 years to working as an assistant manager at various Food Lions locations. He was affectionately known as “Lil Man” due to his size, although anyone wanting to harm someone in his presence would have learned of his strong resolve.

Paul was briefly married twice but generally chose to live independently in Iredell County, an area he loved throughout his life. In his final years, he battled Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome, which gradually affected his memory and health; however, he never lost his kindness, personality, humor, or spirit.

He will be remembered most for the love he showered to his friends and family, his affection for horror movies and Halloween, and his athletic abilities on the tennis and basketball courts and softball fields.

Paul is survived by his beloved mother, Peggy; siblings Kim, Sheree, Rick, Kathy, and Debra; and a host of nephews, and nieces who always thought of Paul as the coolest uncle.

A memorial celebration in Paul’s honor will be held on March 8 at 3 p.m. at the American Legion, 304 S Main Street in Troutman.

Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory, Mooresville, is serving the Daniels family. Condolences may be made to the family at www.cavin-cook.com.
