Robert L. Stone, 96, passed away on Friday, on February 8, 2025. He was born on December 21, 1928, to the late Henry Stone and Bessie Louis Stone.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Robert’s service to his country marked the foundation of a life defined by strength, honor, and determination. After retiring from the Air Force, he pursued a career with the U.S. Post Office. He not only built planes but also took pride in selling them, a remarkable achievement that he continued to pursue until the age of 80.

Robert was known for walking to the beat of his own drum, a testament to his distinguished character and an embodiment of his independent spirit. Outside of his professional life, Robert engaged in hobbies that brought him joy. He had a profound love for the History Channel and Westerns, immersing himself in stories that echoed values he cherished. His woodworking skills were a reflection of his creative side, allowing him to craft beautiful pieces with his hands. Robert found great pleasure in spending time with friends, his warm presence and engaging conversations left lasting impressions.

He leaves behind a legacy of passion and integrity, embodying the very best of what it means to lead a life filled with purpose and dedication. His contributions to his country, community and his craft will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his dear friend John Ellis and numerous family members and friends he calls family.
