The Troutman Exchange Club is making plans for the First Annual CARS FOR KIDS (Driving Out Child Abuse) event, a car, truck, and motorcycle show, coupled with a food truck festival.

This event will take place on April 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Career Academy and Technical School, located at 250 Old Murdock Road in Troutman.

Owners of all makes, models, and years of vehicles are welcome to participate. Entry fees are $20 for cars and trucks, and $10 for motorcycles.

The proceeds from this event will go to support Pharos Parenting, a Statesville-based organization dedicated to preventing child abuse by “guiding parents through the rough waters of parenting.”

The event promises a fun-filled day for the whole community with an awards ceremony scheduled for 1 p.m. and a 50/50 Drawing at 1:30 p.m.
