Margaret Louise Tabor Clement, 81, of 1693 US Highway 64 West, Mocksville, N.C., was born in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Charlie Holsey Tabor and Alice Cacilla Young Tabor. She departed this life on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice in Winston-Salem, N.C., following a brief illness. She was married to James Edward Clement for over 58 years, and he survives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant child, Alice Louise Clement; her siblings, Betty Stringer, Willie Tabor, Edward Tabor, Andrew Tabor and Shirley Tabor; her in-laws, William Ray Clement, Evelyn “Sis” Clement Scott, Calvin Stringer and Nerene Tabor.
“Weezy,” as she was affectionately called, graduated from Unity High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Livingstone College in Salisbury and her master’s in education from NC A&T State University in Greensboro. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Rockhill Church of Christ in Cleveland. She was a dedicated educator having taught at Cleveland Elementary School, Troutman Elementary School and Head Start in Davie County.
She leaves to celebrate and remember the blessing of her life her husband, James Edward Clement of the home; her children, Keith (Anita) Roberts of Covina, Calif., and Leah “Shellie” Chunn and James (Lemuel) Nichols, both Mocksville; four grandchildren, Chavis (Yenny) Chunn, Candance Chunn, and Xiia Tillman, all of Mocksville, and Amari Tillman of Charlotte; one great grandchild, Xiquan Smith of Mocksville; one brother, Dewain (Patsy) Tabor of Statesville; two sisters-in-law, Martha Clement of Mocksville and Jackie Tabor of Charlotte; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, neighbors, the Rockhill Church of Christ Family, the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Family, the Highland Acres Church Family, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Highland Acres Church of Christ in Statesville, N.C. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Mocksville, N.C. Mrs. Clement will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Members of the family will receive friends at the church an hour prior to the service but will assemble at the residence at other times.
