Faye Grant Fox, a devoted mother and cherished member of the Taylorsville, N.C., community, formerly known as Faye Grant Cain of Statesville, N.C., peacefully passed away on February 22, 2025, at the age of 85.
Faye lived a life filled with love and dedication to her family and church. Surrounded by those who adored her in her final moments, she left behind an endearing legacy of kindness and warmth.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Kenneth Grant Cain of Statesville, N.C., and Ralph Fox of Taylorsville, N.C.; her parents, Mary Irene Grant and Roy Lee Grant; her brothers, Donald Grant of Iowa, and Ray Grant and Norman Grant of Statesville, N.C.; and her sister, Joan Fulp of Statesville, N.C.
Faye is lovingly remembered by her children, Samantha Lackey, and husband Jeff of Statesville, N.C.; Brigitte Ferriera and husband Chris of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and Jonathan Cain of Taylorsville, N.C.; and her two favorite fur-children Jackson and Bryn. She is also survived by her extended family, Allen Fox and wife Ann of Mississippi Kay Stracner and husband Butch of Florida; and Janet Fields and husband Ray of Idaho; along with her dear sister, Sylvia Lacey of Statesville, N.C.; her sister-in-law, Marjorie Grant of Moravian Falls, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her family legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren, Bryan Lackey and his wife Brittany of Black Mountain, N.C.; Lindsey Lackey of Statesville, N.C.; Kenneth Ferriera of Lincoln, Neb.; Colin and Eric Fields of Idaho; her beloved triplet great -granddaughters, Lilly, Holly, and Grace; and many extended family members who called her Mom.
Her spirit and the countless cherished memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28, at 1 p.m. at Broad Street Church of Christ in Statesville. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Donations may be made in Faye’s memory to Broad Street Church of Christ in Statesville; Liledoun Road Church of Christ in Taylorsville; or the Alexander County Senior Center in Taylorsville.
