The Brawley School’s Future City team recently traveled to Washington, D.C., to compete in the national finals of the engineering.
After winning a regional competition on January 25, the team of sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders had their eyes set on an even bigger prize in the nation’s capital.
This year’s challenge involved building a floating city, complete with infrastructure, and illustrating how their design would keep the city’s residents healthy and safe.
Although the Brawly team did not place in the national competition, they did win an award for best incorporating cultural historical resources.
