Mauney Viola Lineberger Marlowe, 85, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, after a brief period of declining health. She was born on July 29, 1939, to the late Robert Raymond Lineberger and Mildred Viola Mauney Lineberger.
She married the love of her life, Dwight Marlowe, on September 25, 1959. Together, they had three children. Dwight and Mauney spent many hours on their farm with a poultry house, raising tobacco and black angus cows. They enjoyed traveling and spent countless hours on the road with Christian Tours traveling all over the country.
Mauney was happiest when she was sitting on the church pew on Sundays. She was very faithful to her church and was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, picking blueberries, playing card games, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and spending time at her sewing machine and quilting. Mauney also enjoyed gardening and canning. She took great pride in her flower beds and plants and always had a green thumb.
Mauney was saved at a young age and is now rejoicing in Heaven, whole and new, with those who went on before her. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Dwight Franklin Marlowe; her sister, Mildred Hutchens; her brothers, Robert “Brown” Lineberger, James “Jim” Lineberger, and Lewis Lineberger; and her grandson, Nathan Snyder.
She had a wonderful sense of humor, and her smile and kind spirit would light up any room. She had the most contagious laugh and lived life to the fullest. Even at 85, she was always on the go. She was strong-willed and determined and taught her family to never give up and to never quit. Mauney will be remembered for her kindness and giving heart. She was a blessing to all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Her daughter, Annette (Van) Snyder of Harmony; her son, Darin (Angela) of Harmony; grandchildren, Bridget (Andrew) Mooe and Dylan Marlowe; heart grandsons: Travis and Justin Snyder; great grandchildren, Natalie and Jake Snyder, Addison Hill, and their mother, Dana Hill, will all forever miss her and carry her in their hearts forever.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Childress officiating. A graveside service will follow.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Mooe, Dylan Marlowe, Travis Snyder, Justin Snyder, Doug Prevette, and Wayne Dagenhart.
