Rita Owens, 71, of Harmony, N.C., passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Grundy, Virginia on June 8, 1953, to the late Bill Dotson and Fannie Deel Dotson.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine Boyd, Marie Elswick and Sharon Kay Dotson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, Johnny Owens; daughters, Jennifer Owens of Harmony, and Lisa Elliott (Brad) of Bristol, Tenn.; granddaughter, Kaitlin Owens (Eric Maggard, fiancé); great grandson, Owen Maggard; sisters, Mildred Woods (Merle), Charlene Lockhart (James), and Wanda Yates; and brothers, Buford Dotson (Julie), and Leon Dotson.

There are no formal services scheduled at this time.
