Iredell Health System has announced the hiring of Matthew Woods as its new director of Biomedical Technology, in partnership with Crothall Healthcare.

Woods brings over 32 years of experience in the healthcare technology management (HTM) field in both anesthesia and ventilator equipment and HTM sales and management. He holds an Associate of Applied Science from Caldwell Community College and is a board member of the North Carolina Biomedical Association.
In his new role, Woods will oversee the Biomedical Technology Department, ensuring staff members have safe and effective equipment to care for patients.
“Having previously worked at Iredell Health System as the director of the Biomedical Department, I knew that Iredell was an outstanding independent healthcare organization,” said Woods. “When the chance to join Crothall Healthcare as the director of the Biomed Department at Iredell arose, I could not pass on such a great opportunity.”
Woods lives in Hickory with his wife of almost 30 years, Anita. They have three grown children, Lindsay, Parker, and Abey, who have graduated college and started their own careers. His hobbies include coaching youth league football, horseback riding, and restoring cars. He is a member of the Caldwell Community College advisory board.
“I am excited to contribute to the outstanding healthcare that Iredell Health System provides the community. As the director of the department, I have the opportunity to contribute to this outstanding care by ensuring that equipment used by healthcare providers is safe and reliable.”
