Vernon “Bill” Nance, 92, of Taylorsville, N.C., passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at his home. He was born November 8, 1932, in Alexander County, the son of the late Mitchell Nance and Litha Marlow Nance.

Bill was a United States Navy veteran. He worked for Hickory Chair and Sherrill Furniture for 25 years each. He was a member of Kingdom Hall in Taylorsville. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jerldine Icenhour Nance; a son, Joel Lynn Nance; sisters, Cora Resare, Sadie Porter, Ora Johnson, Nora Anthony, Vivian Irvin, and Lora Moore; and brothers, James Nance, Hubert Nance, Norman Nance, Issac Baker.

Those left to cherish his memories include his daughter, Kim Nance Wilson of El Paso, Texas; his sons, Timothy Dean Nance of Portland, Ore., and Mark Allen Nance (Margo) of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Nathan Nance, Daniel Wilson, and Katelyn Wilson; his sister, Garlene Shawver of Taylorsville; his brother, Jerry Nance (Judy) of Taylorsville; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Adams Funeral Home.
