Geraldine Craven Nash, 89, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away at her home on Sunday, March 16, 2025, after a long illness. Geraldine, known as “Dean,” was born in the Mazeppa community of Mooresville on March 5, 1936, to Willie Poston and Arthur F Craven.

Geraldine graduated from Mooresville High School and Lenoir Rhyne College. She taught school in the Virginia Beach, Va., school system, where she met and married her husband Frank E. Nash and returned to Mooresville.

In addition to her parents, Dean was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Clark (Tom) and Gladys Pierce (Charles); and a brother, Floyd Pharr Craven.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Frank Nash; two sons, Kevin (Lisa) and Sean; and grandchildren, Rachel, Katherine and Joseph.

During her years of good health, she was a helpful and compassionate person and known for helping friends and family in need. She was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and dogs.

A private graveside service will be held.
