The Statesville team of AARP volunteer tax preparers needs volunteers to work 10 to 15 hours per week from February 1 to April 15. The volunteer team provides free tax preparation for seniors. The typical client makes less than $60,000 annually and is over age 60.

Volunteers receive an abundance of gratitude and feeling of accomplishment and purpose. The work is fun and mentally stimulating, and the hours are flexible.

Volunteers attend four half days of group or individual training and are provided a laptop computer.

Experience working on computers, in accounting or tax preparation is a great help, but volunteers come from all backgrounds.

This is a very needed and much appreciated service. The Statesville team typically serves over 600 citizens saving them thousands of dollars and getting them tens of thousands of dollars in refunds.
