The Statesville City Council will meet Wednesday and Thursday at the Lake Norman State Park Visitors Center for its annual planning retreat. 

The retreat, which is open to the public, is set for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Council has engaged  Centralina Council of Governments Executive Director Geraldine Gardner and Senior Planner Emily Parker to facilitate the meeting.

The agenda includes staff presentations on growth and financial forecasts and discussions on economic development and capital projects and personnel challenges.

Following the adjournment of Wednesday’s meeting, Council will have supper at Pellegrino’s in Troutman. This is a social gathering where no city business will be conducted.

Directions to Lake Norman State Park

Travel south through Troutman on US 21, turn right at the light on Wagner Street/Perth Road. In approximately 1.5 miles turn right on State Park Road. In 2 to 2.5 miles you will come to the entrance of Lake Norman State Park. After you cross the bridge, take the first left and that will take you into a big parking lot. The building is on the other side. The address is 759 State Park Road, Troutman.
