Iredell health officials reported four more COVID-19 deaths on Thursday, raising the county’s death toll to 72 since the onset of the pandemic in March.

According to the latest figures released by the Iredell County Health Department, there have now been 6,143 laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county.

Twenty-five people who have tested positive in Iredell are currently hospitalized, and 1,189 others who have been infected with COVID-19 are isolating at home.

Health officials estimate that 4,857 people in the county who have tested positive are now recovered, although some my develop long-term health issues.

State and local health officials continue to urge residents to wear face coverings, practice social distancing and wash their hands frequently.
