There are now 42 reported cases of COVID-19 in Iredell County.
According to the Iredell County Health Department, the number of cases increased from 36 cases on Thursday. Most of the new cases were reported in the central and northern parts of the county; however, the majority of cases remain in the southern end of the county, which is more densely populated.
No deaths in Iredell County have been attributed to COVID-19, which has caused more than 50,000 deaths around the world.
Geographic Dispersal of COVID-19 Cases
Some 57 percent of the reported cases in Iredell County have been men, and 38 percent of those diagnosed are between the ages of 50 and 64.
County officials have cautioned that the novel coronavirus is likely widespread throughout the county. Residents are being urged to follow the governor’s stay-at-home order and practice social distancing.
According to the N.C. Department of Health & Human Service, some 2,093 individuals in 86 counties across the state have been diagnosed with COVID-19. There have been 19 deaths reported across the state and some 259 people are currently hospitalized.
