The Iredell Community Outreach Association (COAST), a local non-profit relief organization, is planning several events for the holiday season:
♦ On Thursday, December 10, COAST will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser at Fellowship Baptist Church, 2306 Buffalo Shoals Road, Statesville, to benefit for those affected by the flooding at the Hiddenite Campground. All of the proceeds will be donated to the families affected. Spaghetti, garlic bread, and dessert will be available for dine-in or take out from 5 to 8 p.m. Anyone unable to attend the event may donate to the Iredell COAST by marking their donation as “campground fundraiser.”
♦ On Saturday, December 12, COAST will host a $0.25 clothing event for those in need. All clothing within the Iredell COAST Resale Shop and Community Food Bank, 833 N. Center Street, Statesville, will be on sale for $0.25 while it lasts. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
♦ Throughout the month of December, Iredell COAST will be delivering “blessing bags” to the homeless and less fortunate members of our community. Through a blanket drive at the shop, as well as items received from Good360, bags will includes blankets, toothbrushes and paste, water bottles, and handmade Christmas ornaments. A total of 50 bags will be given out.
Food Bank
The Iredell COAST Community Food Bank is open Monday-Thursday to anyone in need of free food. A very short application is required and food is handed out same day.
