Iredell County, Town of Mooresville, and state officials have been notified that a sink hole has developed in a parking lot on private property which involves a permitted coal ash structural fill site located on West Plaza Drive in the Town of Mooresville.

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality and N.C. Department of Transportation have been on site and are working with each other, as well as property owners, to assess the underlying cause of the sink hole, determine corrective actions, and mitigate impacts to the public as quickly and safely as possible.
