The deaths of three more individuals in Iredell County have been attributed to COVID-19.

The Iredell County Health Department reported the county’s 26th, 27th and 28th deaths among patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. Local health officials do not release any personal information about COVID-19 patients.

Five deaths have been reported this week, making it the deadliest week and month in the county since the pandemic began in March.

According to the latest report, 2,492 people have now tested positive for COVID-19 in Iredell. Among those:

♦ 14 people are currently hospitalized;
♦ 440 people are isolating at home; and
♦ 2,010 people are presumed recovered

County officials continue urging residents to wear face coverings, follow social distancing guidelines and practice good personal hygiene.

There have been 944 laboratory confirmed cases in the southern end of the county, 1,015 in the central region, and 533 in the southern end.
