Mooresville town commissioners on Monday agreed to pay McAdams and Company nearly $560,000 to design phase II of Liberty Park.
Preliminary plans for phase II include an inclusive playground, covered basketball court/multi-purpose area, interactive fountain, concessions stand, bathroom, outdoor classroom, picnic area, play areas and greenway.
McAdams and Company will design the entire project, which may be completed in multiple phases.
Town officials hope construction on phase II can begin in June of 2021.
OTHER BUSINESS
Also during Monday’s meeting, commissioners:
♦ Approved a conditional rezoning for 33.85 acres at 459 and 461 Faith Road, which clears the way for 77 single-family homes to be built. Town staff and the planning board recommended approval.
♦ Awarded Blythe Construction a $1,172,032 contract for milling, paving and restriping about 8.4 miles of town-owned roads during fiscal year 2020-2021.
♦ Approved a contract with Jan-Pro Clean Systems of Charlotte LLC for cleaning services at multiple town locations for fiscal year 2021. The maximum expense for the town is $75,258.
♦ Approved an $80,000 contract with the Kaleidoscope Group to assist the town with implementation of its Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging and Equity strategic plan.
♦ Approved a contract with Iredell Health System for $95,000 to continue the wellness program for town employees.
♦ Approved a contract with Allegiance Staffing for $936,798 for temporary staffing services. Department heads have the discretion to directly hire staff or use Allegiance to fill temporary staffing needs.
