A Mooresville man faces felony drug-trafficking charges following an investigation by the Mooresville Police Department with assistance from the Cornelius Police Department.
The MPD announced the arrest of Marcus Lamone Black, 40, of Mount Mourne Loop in a news release Tuesday.
Following an investigation into sales of cocaine in northern Mecklenburg and southern Iredell counties, the MPD arrested Black on January 10.
He is charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine, possession with the intent to sell and/or deliver cocaine, felony maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Black was detained in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond.

The Mooresville Police Department reported the following arrests:
JANUARY 5
♦ Jairo Carrasco-Mena, 31, of Elkin Highway, Rhonda, charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, and a misdemeanor drug offense.
♦ Jason Matthew Hamilton, 45, of E. Moorehouse Avenue, Mooresville, charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury, two counts of attempted second-degree forcible rape, misdemeanor assault and false imprisonment.
♦ Betty Heidi Jones, 38, of Elkin Highway, Rhonda, charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, and a misdemeanor drug offense.
♦ Kimberly Lyons, 23, of Kool Park Road NE, Hickory, charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, and a misdemeanor drug offense.
JANUARY 7
♦ Donald Ray Davis Jr., 38, of Boger Street, Mooresville, charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer, and a misdemeanor drug offense.
JANUARY 8
♦ Kaleef Hassan Carpenter, 22, of Jennifer Lane, Claremont, charged with breaking or entering, probation violation, misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer, and misdemeanor possession of burglary tools.
♦ Haleem Cornelious Gilliland, 20, of Devongate, Charlotte, charged with breaking or entering, misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer, and misdemeanor possession of burglary tools.
♦ Antwan Jamarrus Vanshn Jones, 28, of Rosemont Drive, Grover, charged with breaking or entering, and misdemeanor possession of burglary tools.
JANUARY 10
♦ Randy Joseph Mayne Jr., 36, of E. Wilson Avenue, Mooresville, charged with possession of a schedule I controlled substance, misdemeanor probation violation, misdemeanor interfering with an electronic monitor, and a misdemeanor drug offense.
