A northern Iredell County resident faces numerous felony charges following an Iredell County Sheriff’s Office investigation into the reported theft of several guns.
Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Timothy Chris Stewart, 35, in a news release on Monday.
The ICSO began investigating on August 3 after deputies responded to a report of a break-in at a residence in the 300 block of Mountain View Road.
After arriving on scene, the deputies learned that five guns and several other items had been stolen from the residence, Campbell said.
The case was assigned to Detective Scot Hall, who developed Stewart as the suspect in the break-in, according to the news release. Detective Hall conducted several interviews and determined that Stewart had pawned one of the stolen guns at Statesville Jewelry & Loan, Campbell said.
Detective Hall obtained felony arrest warrants charging Stewart with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, larceny of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and two counts of obtaining property by false pretenses.
Stewart as arrested on Thursday, October 1. He was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was served with the arrest warrants. Magistrate Imes issued a $25,000 secured bond on these charges.
