Two men are charged with breaking into barn in the Harmony area and tampering with an antique vehicle.
Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrests of Cody Grant Groce, 32, of Yadkinville and Bobby Wayne Potts Jr., 31, of Hamptonville in a news release on Monday.
On January 23, Iredell County Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives responded to the area of North Meadow Road in reference to breaking and entering, Campbell said.
When the deputies arrived at the location, tire tracks were located showing where someone had driven around a gated drive which led to several barns on the property, according to the news release.
Detective Danny Wyatt was assigned to follow up on the incident. Based on evidence and information gathered through witness interviews, Groce and Potts were identified as suspects, Campbell said.
Groce, who is confined in the Yadkin County Jail for a parole violation, was served with warrants for felony breaking and entering, felony breaking and entering to a motor vehicle, and misdemeanor first-degree trespassing. He received a $3,000 bond.
Potts was arrested on January 27 at his residence in Yadkin County by ICSO deputies. He was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was charged with felony breaking and entering, felony breaking and entering to a motor vehicle, and misdemeanor first-degree trespassing. Magistrate Tutterrow issued Potts a $2,500 bond.
