G4G Ministries 11th Annual Golf Tournament, its only fundraiser each year, will be Friday, October 1, at Larkin Golf Club in Statesville. Proceeds will fund much of the group’s work for the coming year.
G4G Executive Director Brad Bullock said the success of this fundraiser dictates the success of this faith-based, nonprofit ministry. “It enables us to to feed our neighbors in need, both physically and spiritually,” he said.
“To fulfill our mission, this tournament is how we raise funds to be involved with assisting people in the Statesville and Iredell community.”
Though filling their stomachs is important, Bullock said that alone is not enough. “We hope to put the light of Christ in their heart and give them hope for the future.”
“We can help connect them with recovery experts if needed, find them a place to stay if homeless, and help them find a way to move forward. They are often struggling in the darkness, so chicken and hot dogs alone won’t help them turn their lives around.”
The organization depends on a band of volunteers to fulfill its mission. Those interested in volunteering give their email address through the website (https://g4gministries.com/contact-us-2/volunteer/) and then receive a Signup Genius invitation to volunteer at upcoming events so they can select those that fit their schedule.
Volunteers can help with grilling, serving, or as prayer warriors in the prayer tent. “They feed people a hot, nutritious meal, say prayers for them, and try to give them hope for the future,” said Bullock.
