FROM STAFF REPORTS
Until teachers and students have access to the COVID-19 vaccine, Iredell-Statesville Schools officials will continue efforts to prevent spread of the coronavirus in district schools.
That means following strict sanitation and cleaning protocols, and continuing to isolate those who have possibly been exposed to COVID-19 on district campuses.
During the first week of the school after the holiday break, 146 I-SS staff members were quarantined or isolated due to possible exposure, along with 389 students.
There were a total of nine positive cases involving staff (6) and students (3) reported throughout the district.
I-SS officials and the Iredell County Health Department notified parents of students at eight district schools of possible exposure to COVID-19.
