The Iredell County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday will hold three public hearings for consideration of two zoning requests and text amendment changes to the land code.
The board will meet at 7 p.m. at Iredell County Government Center, 200 S. Center Street, Statesville. The meeting will be live video streamed via the county’s website.
The first public hearing is to consider a request from Charles Myers to release zoning and subdivision jurisdiction to the Town of Mooresville. Myers of MT Land LLC is requesting jurisdiction of 41.04 acres owned by Moore Residential Real Estate Trust be transferred from the county to the Town of Mooresville.
According to county documents, the purpose of the request is for expansion of the Pecan Hills subdivision, which is already in the Town of Mooresville’s jurisdiction.
The second public hearing is to consider a request by Jennifer Holt to release zoning and subdivision jurisdiction of 42.5 acres to the Town of Mooresville.
The proposed use of the property is a residential development.
The third public hearing is to consider a text amendment to the Land Development Code. The county’s planning and development staff is proposing an amendment to the Iredell County Land Development Code regarding the new Chapter 160D of the NC State General Statutes.
According to Planning Director Matthew Todd, a majority of the amendments involve updates to General Statutes number references and there are some substantive changes.
Also, many of the items were already practiced but we are adding to the code for clarification.
The summary of Changes includes chapter references throughout code, terminology updates, bona fide farm, subdivision, vested right, variance findings of fact, conflict of interest and definition.
